Pretzel cyanotype

A1 sheets of used baking paper become 'relief prints' from an artisan making process, though they would ordinarily be discarded after one use. Instead they have been collected, photographed in a studio environment, printed as negatives and developed as cyanotypes, transforming otherwise unusable sheets of waste paper into a series of patterns for reproduction.

With shape and form accentuated, some outlines hint at the breads and pastries that have left their mark, while others become more abstract, feeling at times forensic, bacterial, aquatic and even constellatory.
