Baker's Dozen

Used sheets of baking parchment, with imprints from the produce that were once baked upon them.

These A2 sheets of paper become in their own right 'reliefs' from an artisan making process, though they would ordinarily be discarded after one use. Instead they have been collected, photographed in a studio environment and printed as cyanotypes. This transforms otherwise unusable sheets of waste paper into a series of patterns for reproduction.

With shape and form accentuated, some outlines hint at what left its mark, while others become more abstract, feeling at times forensic, bacterial, aquatic and even constellatory.
